IMPORTANT FUND-RAISING EVENT:
On Saturday August 8th, Jaclyn Aldredge-Bisgard, with the assistance of Jefferson Fox, will be holding a benefit that will raise donations for the Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry. Several area bands will provide the entertainment.  The benefit begins at 7:00 p.m. at the RiverView Room of Buckners.  Please put this on your calendars now and give all that you can.  More details to follow soon.  Many thanks to Jaclyn Aldredge-Bisgard and Jefferson Fox for organizing this much needed event.  Small Town Boyz will not perform due to a scheduling conflict, but please go out and support the food pantry and hear some really great bands perform.

ABOUT THE FOOD PANTRY:

The Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry is located in the Old City Hall Building (now Cox Hall) at 225 South High Street in Jackson. It is staffed by volunteers from the churches of Jackson and supported by donations of food as well as monetary contributions from the citizens of Jackson, community and civic organizations, and the United Way.

The Food Pantry is open Monday and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. We serve residents in Cape Girardeau County, outside the city limits of Cape Girardeau. Individuals may receive a 3-5 day supply of food once every 30 days. Also, vouchers for gas and fresh food items are available after talking with a minister.

During 1998, the Alliance helped 556 families and gave out $1,510.00 in food vouchers and $13,864.00 in actual food.
